Virginia Despres, LCSW
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Connecticut, with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults through a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Salem State University, where I lived for six years before returning home during the COVID-19 pandemic to be closer to family.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals, families, and communities in both outpatient and emergency service settings, including roles as a Psychiatric Emergency Service Clinician and a Child and Family Outpatient Therapist. I also previously served as an Assistant Director at an after-school program on the North Shore, where I deepened my commitment to youth development and family support.
These diverse experiences have strengthened my passion for walking alongside people during some of their most difficult moments and have reinforced my belief in the power of compassionate, strengths-based care. My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centered—focused on creating a safe space where individuals feel heard, respected, and empowered. I view therapy as a journey of growth and self-discovery, and I work closely with clients to build coping strategies, enhance communication, strengthen relationships, and foster resilience.
Today, I bring my clinical experience, passion, and commitment to helping others create meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. I look forward to supporting you as you take steps toward positive change.
