Alyssia Cinami, LMFT

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with 9 years of experience working with individuals and families in a community mental health practice setting. I was born and raised in the Quiet Corner and I have a special interest in serving the communities where I grew up. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University and my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Central Connecticut State University.

In my practice I specialize in treating adolescents, pre-adolescents, and their families. I also work with adults. I treat those who are struggling with anxiety and depression symptoms, trauma, and I do relational therapy to help people improve their communication with loved ones and reduce conflict. I enjoy helping people adjust to major life changes such as parenting, transitioning to adulthood, and divorce/separation and blended family issues. As a family therapist, I encourage parents and families to be actively involved in supporting their child in treatment. I use CBT and solution-focused interventions and I am certified in evidence-based practices to treat children with trauma, anxiety, depression, and behavioral difficulties.

I practice with a client-centered approach which means that you are in control of your treatment and goals. I strive to make therapy sessions a safe and open space for you to express yourself, feel heard, and take steps toward learning skills and exploring life challenges in order to meet your goals and increase life satisfaction.
